Hello Cyb0rgmous3,

its nice to have you onboard.

Thanks for declaring your interest, we hope to have a server soon, hopefully when they sort out the prices :P.

If you read our Application to Join Invio and reply to that so I know what faction you want to play etc, or you can become your own leader.

The government clan is up and running too

[VG] Invio War Z Rules & Guidelines / Invio - How to Capture Territory
« on: February 12, 2013, 01:57:47 pm »
In the World of Invio, everything is up for grabs, the towns, the cities, airport etc. (However safe settlements are not).

The left side of the map is all unclaimed. In order to claim this land, all you have to do is simply travel there, and state a claim to the land. By doing so, the Territory map will be updated to now show your new territory. Be careful not to bite of more than you can chew, as you will be responsible for defending your new land from the other factions who want it to!.

To make a claim, simply go to the area, and light several flares in the surrounding area. In chat say the area you claim. You must hold that area for 30 minutes in order to have it join your faction. This gives time for others to dispute the claim and fight for it! The first faction which holds the claimed land for 30 minutes will claim it!. Unclaimed territory can only be claimed when other Members are online!

If you wish to claim another factions territory, you must do the same. Light several flares at your locations and make a claim in the chat. However since it is "enemy" territory, you must hold it for 1 hour. If the defending faction reaches and kills the attackers, then the claim is Void and the area remains part of the defending faction. You are not allowed to log onto another character and continue claiming that territory. If you wish to, the timer will reset and you must hold it for an hour! You can only claim another factions territory when that faction has at least 3 members online!

If you wish to claim a Large city for yourself, ie Campos and Boulder, then you must light several flares at your location, and make the claim in the chat. However you must be able to hold this for 75 minutes. (1hr 15m). The same rules apply, this can only be done if the defending faction has 3 or more members online!

The land that can be claimed will be the equivalent of one Square on the grided map provided. The map will be altered as and when territory is claimed and lost. If you have successfully claimed a territory, please post in the correct forum thread to have the map updated :)

If the Faction can not defend their territory, or prevent another Faction from capturing unclaimed territory within the time limit, they must make an Immediate retreat. They must wait 1 Hour before being able to launch an attempt to recapture it.

You can only capture any territory which you share a border with. So for example the FSK can't capture Crystal Lake unless they border it. So no one can capture Boulder City until they have built their territory onto its doorstep.

You can find the map here http://visiongaming.createaforum.com/invio-state-of-affairs/territory-map/

[VG] Invio War Z Rules & Guidelines / Invio - Faction Rules
« on: February 12, 2013, 01:19:58 pm »
Each faction in Invio has its own agenda and rules which it must follow. This is to help with the role-play and make the game world as immersive a possible.

Before deciding on a Faction to join, I recommend thoroughly reading this to see what faction's game-play and rules suits your playing style.

During Times of Peace, PvP must be restriced to Territory Borders and Unclaimed Territory. However During Times of war, PvP can take place anywhere in the enemy Factions territory. Spawn Camping and Safe Zone camping is strictly Forbidden.

The Invio Government

Rules

Within the Government, there are two types of players. Those who play the role of the military, and those who are citizens.
The military take an active role in defending its borders and taking part in wars et, while citizens prefer to scavenge the land for supplies for themselves and the government.
Everyone helps each other out in the government.
Citizens may be called to Arms during times of unrest and war and they may still participate in PvP.
The Governments main objective is to keep their territory safe from the other factions by frequently patrolling the surrounding area and responding to any reports of hostile activity.
The Government often has the most high tech equipment available in-game.
The Invio Government must also engage every zombie they see, they wish to wipe out the undead. All the other factions do not have to play by this rule.

Apparel

When creating a character, Government citizens can only choose between Rebel Without a Cause, Average Joe, Ex-military, Rockin Rollah and Hunter.
The Government can wear everything except masks.

Merchant's Guild

Rules

The team members need to be able to Keep the head cool during firefights.
Make quick decision about life and death.
Trust your life with the fellow team member.
The teams main base of operations will be at Castle Pine and the surrounding territories as shown on the map.
FSK members can either become citizens, who help to bring in supplies, and soldiers who's duty is to protect and serve

Apparel

To be a soldier, you will need to use one of these character: Ex Military, Ex Cage Fighter and Rebel without a Cause.
To be a citizen, you can choose to be everyone else but not those above.
You are not allowed to wear any bandit masks

The Black Guard

Rules

The Warlords control the east part of the map and despite having Goblin Peak as their safe settlement, their man objective is holding onto Campos. This is the main city in Invio.
The Warlords can make their own rules!
The Warlords can create as many sub clans as they want. So there could 5 different clans fighting under the Warlords. This can lead to wars between themselves as each clan fights for campos.

Apparel

When creating a character, you can choose between either Ex-cagefighter, Ex- Military or Hunter. They can wear all apparel in-game.

Tycho Darkwater Security Services

Rules

The TDSS have a HQ but no territory so therefore they do not capture territory, however they can assist other factions in doing so. They are on Neutral terms with the Government which allows them access to the safe settlement.
If you are in this clan, you will operate among the ranks you gain and achieve. You will be promoted and demoted by what you pursue and accomplish.
TDSS, gather what resources they can from the settlements in Colorado.
Your prefered method of playing is in tactical groups, sneaking up on others and remaining undetected.
TDSS is basically Mercenaries for hire, their loyalty lies where the money is.
We will Openly and Freely engage anyone that we find Threatening
*TDSS will NOT allow dual characters!*

Apparel

When creating a character, you are allowed to choose from any of the characters available at the start of the game. Some factions are only limited to certain ones to use.
However in-game, you must wear Custom Guerilla, NVG's or Boonies/Berets

[VG] Invio War Z Rules & Guidelines / Invio - Playing Rules
« on: February 12, 2013, 12:35:50 pm »
As you aware, there are 4 Main factions in Invio. All of these faction each have their own playing style and objectives in the game, and each come with a set of rules which apply only to that faction.

But first, here are some general rules regarding Invio:

  • You must not Safezone Camp or Spawn camp, this is against the rules
  • No hacking is allowed what so ever! Glitching to an advantage in combat is also against the rules
  • No team killing
  • You are allowed to change faction, however you must be approved by that factions Leader in order to join them
  • You can only enter the safezone of your faction. Therefore a Government player can not enter the safe zone of the Bandits.
  • You can not capture the other factions safe settlement. However you can capture the rest of their territory
  • Once you create a character, you may spawn outside of your factions territory. If this is the case, you will be allowed to travel to your factions territory. Please make it clear in chat as to make sure no one kills you. If you kill a player heading back to their territory, you will be punished!
  • You are not allowed to Log out during combat, such as picking up rare loot etc, its not in the spirit of a role-playing server
  • You may only have two characters in Invio and must be in the same faction, however once one dies, you are allowed to log onto the other one and continue fighting. You must only log onto your two characters!
  • KOS is only allowed when Role-play is involved, or the two factions are at war
  • If you wish to speak in Global, you must head to a Radio Tower first. If it is urgent, asking a question or need an admin, this does not apply
  • If you are choosing a building to fortify, you must not block of all access, or fortify all buildings in a town. They are more like an outpost for your faction

You must play by these general rules, as well as your specific Faction Rules. Hacking is not permitted, anyone found doing so will be banned from The War Z server!

This Server requires you to be honest and play by the rules. There will be times and opportunities where you may be able to cheat or ignore some rules, but this defeats the point of the server.

If you have any questions, please reply here.

*Will update as more rules are added

Sounds good, Although I'm thinking that a more organized warlord clan would be easier to manage and implement in our scenario. But there is nothing stopping them breaking off an starting a civil war between themselves ;)

Our ideas for a name for this clan?

And I also need a Leader for the Peoples Republic of Invio, any volunteers?

Our server will be considered the "game-world". The name of this world is Invio. Therefore our version is set in the land of Invio. We have chosen this name because it means "Wasteland" in Latin..

The History of Invio

Before the zombie apocalypse, Invio was formerly the state of Colorado in the United States of America. It was a thriving state, with pockets of communities spread through out the land. Its two biggest cities were Campos and Boulder City. Campos was at the heart of Colorado, a bustling and lively city from which the state was run by the government. While Boulder City was situated further north, and was surrounded by water on all sides.

With reports of a Zombie apocalypse emerging from across the globe, panic started to spread throughout the US. The first signs of the virus appeared in Seattle, and swiftly spread, consuming the nation and wiping out 99% of the population in the process. Small groups of survivors banded together, but as the undead outnumbered the living, supplies ran low and bandits ruled the wasteland, one by one these groups perished.

Colorado had a very strong religious following, and it was this faith which many turned too. The "Wasteland" became known as Invio. The name stuck...

The Factions

As the survivors began to accept their situation, they often splited into two categories. Those who wanted to rebuild the world around them, and those set on making life a living hell for anyone but themselves. Each side naturally adopted its own territory and borders, but where never contempt with what they had. Throughout the years, several wars broke out between the factions. Thankfully, recent weeks have bought times of peace, giving each faction time to resupply and gain much needed rest.

Below is a list of factions fighting in Invio

The Government

Members of the government and military at the time of the outbreak manged to survive the initial apocalypse and the years which followed. This band of survivors settled in the North of Invio. The "Capital" of Invio is Blue Ridge, a safe settlement where the government troops and citizens are safe from the zombies and other factions which roam Invio.
Its surrounding territory stretches from Crystal Lake, down to Clearview and left to Smallville.
This small pocket is considered easier to defend and provides the citizens with the supplies they need to survive.

The Black Guard

The Warlord clan have no intentions of restoring peace or uniting all factions together. Instead they would rather do as they please. Raiding other factions territory, cities and towns to get the supplies they need to survive.
Anyone travelling through bandit territory can expected to be followed and ambushed, always laying in wait and always prepared, the bandits are the ultimate guerilla fighting force.
The bandits are very similar to the psychopaths, except they have grouped together to cause more mayhem.
Everyone is an enemy to the Warlord Clan.

Tycho Darkwaters Security Services

The TDSS have a HQ but no territory. After finding their way to Colorado, they decided to set up in the abandoned Police Station in Frosty Pines. They view themselves as mercenaries for hire, however they are neutral with the Government who allow them access to the Safezone.
They gather what resources they can from the settlements in Colorado, and offer their services to other factions in exchange for resources.
Their prefered method of playing is in tactical groups, sneaking up on others and remaining undetected.
However as with other factions, they will not KOS unless they see you as a direct threat to their faction.

Merchant's Guild

Gildam Mercatoria
Also know as the merchant guild is a faction that has recently moved into Colorado and consolidated themselves there through trading and commerce.
They are known to scavenge the battlefields after the battles are over, though they often also participate in these battles themselves, often with hired bodyguards amongst them.
They welcome all factions into their settlement for trading purposes, though if it is a faction that they are currently at war with they will be escorted by armed guards after having shown that they carry no weapons on them.
The Merchants guild are known to liberally use Military grade weapons to protect their goods and have often shown some skill in using these weapons.
There are rumours that a branch of the Merchants guilds do not wait till after the battle is over to scavenge the goods but simply take them from people, however
this is simply unsubstantiated rumours and have not been proved to be true.
The merchants generally travel in groups of 1-3 though larger caravans have been known to travel the country side.

Blue = Government
Red = Warlords
Green= FSK
Yellow = Unclaimed Territory

The War Z Server Discussion / The War Z
« on: February 11, 2013, 12:07:17 pm »
The War Z is a zombie survival MMO. Anyone who has played DayZ will be aware of the genre and the objectives.

As of Tuesday 12th February, it is now possible to rent your own server in-game. This is something we will be doing.

Unlike Chernarus Life, we are limited to what we can change and features to add. However our aim is to make it a role-playing server with different factions controlling the sections of the map. It will be like a game of conquest. For example the "bandit" faction may control an area of map to the south. They are free to try and capture other areas to expand there territory.

This will involve people playing by the rules. But We are more than happy to introduce this to you guys. If we get the people on board, you can create your own factions and develop your own storyline.

If you have not got The War Z or want to know more about it, Check out http://www.squidoo.com/the-war-z-zombie-survival-mmo.

It can be purchased for as little as £15, and monthly subscriptions are not required with all updates free. Buy it now at https://account.playwarz.com/buy/buy.html.

The storyline and backbone of the server can be found here http://visiongaming.createaforum.com/the-war-z-server-discussion/invio-%28vg%29-the-war-z-role-playing-server/. A list of factions are included as well as a territory map.

We have plenty of weapons and items to help people settle in the game.

If you wish to take part in this server, please register for account on the forums, and your good to go :)

Thanks

« on: February 03, 2013, 03:22:05 pm »
In order to help us fund the server, any donations would be appreciated, big or small.  Any amount will help.

By Donating this will enable us to continue renting the server and even go towards buying more slots. We will also continue to make improvements on a regular basis.

So what do you get for Donating?

1) Well by donating, it enables us to keep the server running and make continuous improvements which are constantly making it better

2) We will offer anyone who donates to pick the skin which their character will use in-game. This can be from any of the already available character skins, or from a set of unique ones only for those who donate - We are currently working on this

3) You will start off with a bit more money in-game each time you log in than those who don't donate. This will not be a game breaking amount, but a little bonus to help you out, for helping us.

4) We will add everyone's names who donates to the text which loads up on screen when logging into the server, giving you credit for donating.

5) Once it is ready, those who donate will receive a special forum badge

We are currently coming up with different rewards for donating. If you do donate, could you please leave your in-game name in the message section so we can keep a record.

If you wish to Donate, please click on

If you have any suggestions as rewards for donating, please let us know.

Many Thanks

Welcome Fab :)

We currently do not have a teamspeak server as we haven't got the server yet. We are making sure we have enough interest before we go ahead.

However teamspeak will definitely be something we will look into if we get up and running, and we will be sure to post the IP address on the forums.

Thanks
